Anarchist Marketing and Mutual Aid
Gnomeaid is a decentralized mutual aid Network. Our shared landscape is digital rather than geographic. We are dedicated to developing local solutions to community needs. We start by building the mutual aid network then guide the local community through the problem solving process.
Mutual aid is a process not an act or action. A process of building community dedicated to finding or building local answers for the entire communities needs. Sustainable solutions. By keeping solutions local we are making them sustainable.. Many mutual aid acts can look like charity, or lending or even commerce but these are only methods not the intention. Charity does not work to solve problems (inherently) it is meant as a temporary boost for those “less fortunate” to regain a foothold in the existing system. Mutual aid works to build permanent solutions, locally owned and operated by those who depend upon them most.
Finding or making answers locally keeps the benefits locally. Money spent in a local store will most likely be respent in the community, whereas money spent in a big box store is removing money from the community. Keeping profits locally strengtens locally. This also protects us during periods of disaster, not needing to rely on outside sources which will be cut off when disaster strikes.
There are things we cannot control or source locally, but the more we do the more sustainable we become. Gnomeaid works to expand these possibilites.
